Oridion Medical

Oridion Medical 1987 Ltd. is a medical equipment manufacturer and a major Capnography company in Israel. ICST Corporation made a MAH contract with Oridion Medical on January, 2007. Therefore we can handle this import and their production which manufactured by Oridion Medical, in Japan. On March, 2007, because we entered into a distribution agreement with them, we also can sale their production in Japan. Since September, 2007, we have began to sale their goods main body and consumable in Japan.

Capnography: Microcap series

Capnography is device to monitor end-tidal carbon dioxide (EtCO2). First, let’s consider about human circulation’s mechanism. Oxygen is drawn into lung and is combined with Red Blood Cell [RBC]. Then oxygen is delivered to cell through the blood vessels. In the cell, oxygen reacts directly with glucose and makes shift from itself to energy there. At that moment, resultant CO2 is combined with RBC and is delivered to lung and out of the body. This is breathing’s mechanism.

Capnography is device to monitor whether inhaled oxygen is actually consumed or not, by inspecting concentration of spewed CO2 (Partial Pressure). If Air were forcibly delivered into body, without working this circulation system, cell would be able to receive this energy, as a result, CO2 would not be spewed from exhaled air.

We will be able to say that Capnography is device to know sideration of respiratory failure as soon as possible. Currently, although SpO2 is widely used as indicator of breathing, it needs to monitor for 2-5 minutes from apnea to actual reaction, because it is monitored by fingertip and so on. It is said that time takes about 3minutes when from not-reaching the brain to undertaking to kill this cell. Therefore, in the case of monitoring with SpO2, it becomes higher possibility to remain cerebropathy. Meanwhile, in the case of monitoring with EtCO2, it is able to take response promptly because apnea is rapidly-detectable for it. Recently, EtCO2 monitoring is reconsidered around anesthesiology and emergency medical service (EMS).

Microcap Plus

Although Capnography is mainly locked into the monitor of vital signs, Oridion Medical’s Microcap series is an independent handheld and is able to use by itself. We can say that the using Microcap series is suitable for not only intensive-care unit (ICU), emergency room (ER) and operating room (OR) but also general ward. Microcap series is innovated a way of Microstream. Therefore, if expiratory sampling were only 50ml/min, we can monitor and detect EtCO2. We can use it not only adult but also childish and neonatal low expiratory volume, because it needs a little sampling. This sampling tube has many variations, intubated and non-intubated, and has various type. The non-intubated tube has also the type of supplying O2. It is one of feature Microcap series that it is possible to use it as the situation demands of patients.

New goods: intubated sampling tube VitaLine H Set

Oridion Medical newly developed VitaLine series as improved version of intubated sampling tube, FilterLine H set, which is usable for Microcap series. When we sample from intubated tube, humidity becomes problem which based secretion and so on. Especially in damp climate, likely Japan, it is pointed out that EtCO2 is not able to monitor correctly, because humidity make tube be blocked. Although Oridion Medical has already used the Nafion to eliminate moisture, they implement measures against humidity by using double Nafion for new goods VitaLine. VitaLine has two types VitaLine H set for adult / child and for childish / neonatal. ICST Corporation has obtained exclusive marketing rights for VitaLine in Japan.
